Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is on an apparent mission to prove himself to be the next President of the United States. His new book, The Courage to Be Free: Florida’s Blueprint for America’s Revival, is the perfect platform to make his pitch to Republicans. DeSantis has made his state into a right-wing model where lockdowns are not tolerated and “wokeness” is banned. His recent visit to Iowa was seen as an attempt to gain votes from the state’s white population.
In the meantime, it appears that DeSantis was blindsided by the Republican lawmakers in Florida when they introduced a six-week ban.[0] Now, DeSantis must determine how the ban will affect his presidential ambitions.[0] Moreover, Republican lawmakers are working to help him in his war on woke by introducing laws during the legislative session. It is assumed that DeSantis will announce his presidential bid after the session ends in early May.[1]
Time will tell if DeSantis is successful in his bid for the White House. Only then will we know if Florida’s Blueprint for America’s Revival will become a reality.
