Nikki Haley’s Presidential Campaign Raises $11 Million, Surpasses DeSantis in Fundraising

Former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley’s presidential campaign has announced that she raised a total of $11 million in the third quarter, with $9.1 million in cash on hand that can be spent in the primary. This surpasses the $5 million that Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has on hand, according to his campaign’s figures.[0] Haley’s campaign attributes the surge in fundraising to her strong debate performances and increasing support, with 40,000 new donors contributing in the third quarter alone.

Haley’s campaign spokesperson, Olivia Perez-Cubas, stated that Haley is emerging as the candidate who can move America beyond the chaos and drama of the past and present, and that they have the necessary resources to do so. The campaign press release also highlighted Haley’s previous fundraising success, with $7.3 million raised in the previous quarter.

Haley’s fundraising success has given her an edge in the primary race against DeSantis, who has consistently polled higher than her.[1] However, in recent weeks, Haley has seen a boost in polls following her standout debate performances in August and September. She currently ranks second behind former President Donald Trump in early voting states such as New Hampshire and South Carolina.

Haley’s campaign has seen a significant increase in donor interest, attracting nearly 40,000 new donors in the third quarter alone. This surge in support has allowed Haley to continue building momentum and gain financial resources for her campaign. She has been running a lean operation since announcing her candidacy in February but has managed to raise a total of $26 million from over 100,000 donors.[1]

To further bolster her fundraising efforts and pitch her candidacy as the main alternative to Trump, Haley has embarked on a cross-country fundraising sprint, meeting with deep-pocketed donors at nearly 30 events.[2] Her campaign aims to raise the necessary funds to challenge Trump, who currently holds a commanding lead in the race.[2]

While DeSantis has also reported a substantial third-quarter haul of $15 million, Haley’s campaign highlights that they have more cash on hand for the primary. DeSantis’ campaign confirmed that only $5 million can be used during the primary, raising concerns about his campaign’s financial stability.[3]

In an effort to gain support from influential Republican donors, representatives from Haley’s and DeSantis’ campaigns have been invited to a donor meeting in Dallas.[4] The donors are seeking to determine which candidate would be the best alternative to Trump and have a chance of winning the Republican presidential nomination.[4]

DeSantis’ campaign has expressed confidence that he is the only candidate who can stop Trump in Iowa and beyond.[4] They argue that the primary race is still between DeSantis and Trump, as reflected by the continuing actions of the Trump campaign.

Haley’s campaign has not commented on the upcoming donor meeting.[4] However, her recent fundraising success and growing support indicate that she is a formidable contender in the primary race.

In addition to her fundraising achievements, Haley’s campaign has also seen improvement in polls, particularly following her strong debate performances. While she is currently polling third nationally behind DeSantis and Trump, Haley’s upward trajectory suggests that she is gaining momentum and support from voters.

As the primary race continues, Haley’s campaign will focus on key early nominating states such as Iowa and New Hampshire. They believe that by targeting these states and appealing to residents, they can secure a successful primary bid against Trump.

Overall, Haley’s fundraising success, growing donor interest, and improving poll numbers indicate that she is a serious contender in the Republican primary race. With more cash on hand than her competitors, Haley’s campaign is well-positioned to continue building momentum and challenging the dominance of Trump and DeSantis.
