Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is set to release his book, “The Courage to be Free: Florida’s Blueprint for America’s Revival” on Tuesday, February 28th.[0] This book is expected to be the first step in DeSantis’s potential campaign for the 2024 presidential race. DeSantis has already made a name for himself as a budding politician, with his book exploring topics of the Tea Party, prescription drug coverage to Medicare, and President Barack Obama’s name and background.
The book, which is being released with much anticipation, will explore the Tea Party’s focus on the country’s founding principles and how the nation’s ruling class has not been faithful to such principles, as well as Republicans’ enhancement of the welfare state with programs such as the addition of prescription drug entitlement to Medicare, and Paul Ryan’s plans to make cuts to Medicare and Social Security.[1] DeSantis also dives into the birther movement, and President Obama’s attempts to ingratiate himself with predominantly Muslim countries by showcasing his father’s Muslim roots and his middle name of Hussein.[1]
DeSantis also discusses President Obama’s belief that characterizing his country as a deeply flawed giant would endear him to other nations and foreign audiences, exemplified by the President’s sending of a representative from the United States to the annual Hiroshima remembrance ceremony to ‘to express respect for all the victims of World War II.’ DeSantis also criticizes President Obama’s speech before the Turkish Parliament, where he invoked ‘our own darker periods of our history’ — slavery, segregation and the mistreatment of Native Americans — which DeSantis believes served to reduce America’s moral authority in the eyes of the rest of the world and provided enemies of the United States with grist for their criticism of America.
Finally, the book also touches on former President Donald Trump’s views on vaccinations, which he believes are good and that people should take them, despite jeers from a crowd.
Ron DeSantis’s book is sure to make an impact on the 2024 election, and will be closely watched by political pundits across the country.
